4 Month Update for Ava Marie

My baby girl turned four months old yesterday!  The last month has been quite a transition for the two of us as I started back at work.  We now have a nice routine going which is a relief.  I soak in every little moment with my baby girl!

Ava is now weighing 13 lbs 8 oz and is just about ready to move into size 2 diapers.  She still fits in her 3 month clothes, except for her jammies (she has long legs like her Daddy).  Her 4 month appointment is this upcoming Friday, so I am excited to hear how long she has gotten!

Ava has been rolling to her side from her back and just started rolling over from belly to back!  She loves chewing on her hands and feet and is no longer against hanging in her carseat (which makes for much easier trips to the store)!  She loves watching my every move and has become very observant.

She eats 5 ounces, 5 times a day and sleeps 9-10 hours straight per night.  She was sleeping in her crib before I went back to work, but I have her sleeping in her rock n' play again. I miss her so much during the day that I hate to have her away from me at night.  I know this is something I need to transition back into again soon.  I just love waking up to her little face right next to my bed!  She is still suffering from acid reflux.  I tried weaning her off a few weeks ago and it was a horrible experience.  She was in so much pain, fought feedings and was throwing up a lot.  Luckily, after getting back to her dosage, she was back to normal in a few days!

Ava is fully formula fed now which was a hard transition for myself as a Mom.  The amount of guilt I put myself through is unsettling, but we are both much happier now (I'll share a blog post about this soon).

From the beginning, I was always told how much Ava looked like my Husband, but I am starting to see glimpses of me too.  She has changed so much over the last 4 months.  I just love my girl so much.  She brings my Husband and I so much happiness! Happy 4 months, little Miss Ava Marie <3

  1. How did you transition her to sleep from her rock n play into her crib.

    1. Hi Vanessa! I'm so sorry I am just seeing this now...I started by having her nap in her crib. Once she became more and more comfortable, she was fine in her crib over night!

  2. Would love to read your blog post about transitioning from breastfeeding/breastmilk to formula! ☺️

  3. Great article Bree! Would love to read your blog post about transitioning from breastfeeding/breastmilk to formula!
